Top marks to ORGENTEC’s Anti-MCV®-ELISA
In view of its predictive value the detection of antibodies against mutated citrullinated vimentin, Anti-MCV, is superior to the detection of antibodies to cyclic citrullinated peptides.
That is the conclusion of a recently published study (LinkOut to the study) carried through over a period of two years at Umeå University Hospital, Sweden, by Lena Innala, Solbritt Rantapää-Dahlqvist and co-workers. Additionally, anti-MCV titres correspond to the therapeutic response, the scientists conclude.
Detection of antibodies against citrullinated prote- ins or peptides (ACPA) has become a valuable tool in the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and in predicting clinical outcome. Antibodies to synthetic cyclic citrullinated peptides (anti-CCP) were the first markers for serologic detection of rheumatoid arthritis aside from rheumatoid factor.
The test for antibodies against the native protein citrullinated vimentin has been a further advance- ment towards enhanced sensitivity and extended prognostic value. The study results mentioned are an additional proof of the excellent performance of our Anti-MCV®-ELISA.
