Roman Schmelter's paintings are rich in both colour and effect. So much so that it is hard to take your eyes off of them.

Visitors to ORGENTEC can experience this effect, as original paintings by Roman Schmelter can be seen in the company's head office in Mainz. They are real eye-catchers and fit perfectly into the surroundings, because Roman Schmelter painted them especially for ORGENTEC.

Roman Schmelter was born in 1959 in Oderwalde in Upper Silesia. He studied advertising design in Kattowitz, where he received his degree in 1983. He then worked as an art teacher and free-lance artist in Poland. Since 1987 he has been living in Germany, where he opened the gallery PICTOR in Mainz in 1990. Since then, Schmelter has been successful both as an artist and a gallery-owner. His work can be found in private collections all over the world.

Over the years Schmelter has developed his own unique and unmistakable style. But it is not just the rich colours or the distinct arrangement of his landscape paintings, with their clear horizon marked by a vibrant change of colour, which makes his works so interesting. Moreover, it is the humour and wit to be found in his paintings - with a surreal or surprising unexpected twist - which is often not even noticeable at first glance!
Roman Schmelter's paintings invite viewers inside them, to walk around and explore their scenery. And that is what makes them so unique.
