Mainz 05 HILFT … We’ll Take Care of It!

Mainz, 21/09/2010 – Football club 1. FSV Mainz 05 restructures its various social activities and bundles them into its own charitable association: The Bundesliga team and its partners have founded a new charity called Mainz 05 HILFT e.V. … wir kümmern uns! (Mainz 05 HELPS e.V. … we’ll take care of it!).

Since we at ORGENTEC Diagnostika have had friendly ties to 1. FSV Mainz 05 for years, there was no question that we would support the new charity and its goals. Together with the other members of the initiative team, ORGENTEC Director Dr. Wigbert Berg and Export Manger and Marketing Director Dr. Stephan Becker developed the idea for the charity association in cooperation with the leaders of FSV Mainz 05, and substantially advanced the foundation of Mainz 05 HILFT e.V.

Our firm is naturally a member of the circle of regular supporters of this charity association. In both the initiative team and circle of supporters for Mainz 05 HILFT e.V …wir kümmern uns!, ORGENTEC Diagnostika is joined by many other internationally active firms, as well as medium-sized local companies, physicians, and involved citizens from the city of Mainz and its region.

Mainz Bishop Cardinal Karl Lehman has also supported this newly founded philanthropic association by becoming patron of the association. His decision was not a difficult one, according to Cardinal Karl Lehman, who states his reasons as follows: “Football is a wonderful sport. Although many layers have been added today, at its core it is a game. However, we do not want to separate ourselves from the concrete world around us and flee into a distant world of dreams. It is thus an encouraging sign that 1. FSV Mainz 05 has founded a charitable association that addresses people in need: Mainz 05 HILFT, e.V. A magnificent idea for which I will gladly act as patron!”

As a charitable organization, Mainz 05 HILFT primarily aids families and children in need, as well as charitable organizations in the Mainz area. The help is meant to be delivered rapidly and without bureaucracy, and individual social projects will also be implemented. Mainz 05 Marketing Director Dag Heydecker describes the goals of the non-profit society thus: “Mainz 05 receives requests for support, both large and small, on a daily basis. The Mainz 05 HILFT charity will now allow us to better structure our social activities. We can investigate, review the need, and generally support our assistance with a broader foundation, offering our help in a more targeted fashion.” Mainz 05 HILFT e.V is an association open to all: “Anyone who wishes simply to offer their help can join Mainz 05 HILFT,” says Dag Heydecker.

We have one primary goal for the work of this association: Mainz 05 HILFT aims to inspire people in and around Mainz to be socially engaged.
